I’ve been here several times before and each visit has been a good one. This time, though, I had to bring my son in for a broken arm, and the experience started off a little different. We ended up spending about six hours total, with four of those hours waiting to see a physician. To be fair, we did arrive right at shift change, which made things a bit hectic. Even with that delay, once the doctors came in, everything turned around. The physician was thorough, careful, and took the time to work with my son so he felt comfortable and cared for. That extra attention really made a difference. We were finally discharged a little after midnight, and despite the long wait, the clear communication and the genuine care from the staff left me with a positive impression. The compassion and professionalism at the end of the visit really outweighed the earlier delays. Definitely a place I can trust when it matters most. I recently underwent gallbladder removal performed by Dr. Christopher Bell. Following surgery, I was taken to the Adult PACU, where Deanna DeSousa was my primary nurse. From the moment I arrived, she attended to me with kindness, professionalism, and a reassuring smile every time she entered the room. While I was waking from anesthesia, I believed I was strong enough to walk to the restroom on my own. Unfortunately, I misjudged my condition and lost consciousness while in the restroom. Deanna was immediately behind me and, through what was clearly expert training and quick thinking, prevented me from falling and possibly sustaining further injury. Despite the fact that I am significantly larger than she is, she skillfully supported me, safely guiding me down onto the toilet seat using proper techniques and calm control. Throughout the incident, Deanna remained composed, caring, and deeply empathetic toward both me and my wife. She took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly and confidently, always with patience and a warm demeanor. Her knowledge, professionalism, and compassion were truly superb and made a frightening moment feel safe and manageable. Nurses like Deanna are an incredible asset to your hospital. If anyone undergoes surgery at Medical City Dallas, I sincerely hope they are fortunate enough to receive care from her. She represents the very best of patient-centered healthcare. Thank you for employing such outstanding professionals and for the excellent care I received during my stay.

I had my surgery at Medical City Dallas on March 9th, and my experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and professional, which immediately put me at ease. The check-in process was seamless, especially since I completed my pre-registration online using the QR code. Everything was efficient and well-organized upon arrival. From the moment I walked in, I felt that I was in capable and caring hands. The quality of care I received was outstanding. The facility itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and my room exceeded my expectations. Every aspect of the process from the medical team to the procedure itself and the aftercare was handled with excellence.A special thank you to the nurses who cared for me. I wish I could remember their names. They were absolutely amazing, attentive, compassionate, and always responsive to my needs. Their dedication made a significant difference in my overall experience and recovery. I also deeply appreciated how accommodating the hospital was to my family. My mom, who stayed with me, was provided with blankets, pillows, and anything else she needed to remain comfortable, which meant so much to both of us. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the care and support I received. I highly recommend Medical City Dallas to anyone seeking high-quality, patient-centered care.

⭐☆☆☆☆ My recent experience at Medical City Dallas was extremely disappointing and honestly concerning from a patient safety and infection control standpoint. While the anesthesiologist and my PACU nurse Ollie were excellent, attentive, and professional, several other parts of my care were unacceptable. The volunteer at the front was left alone, overwhelmed, and openly admitted she did not know what she was doing. Volunteers should never be placed in stressful patient-facing situations without proper support. In pre-op, Nurse Judy infiltrated my IV, flushed it despite no blood return and visible swelling, and I also noticed a large air bubble go through the IV tubing while fluids were being started. Very alarming experience. On the women’s unit, my night nurse Faith repeatedly pushed me to walk to the restroom despite being on pain medication, dizzy, nauseous, and previously told I would remain on bed rest and use a bedpan. What concerned me even more was the poor infection control practices I observed — including possible failure to change gloves between perineal care, handling contaminated items, medication administration, and vital signs. I also did not observe proper hand hygiene during care. There also appeared to be poor communication between nursing staff and physicians regarding my pain pump discontinuation time. The phlebotomy technique I witnessed was also concerning from an infection prevention standpoint. As someone familiar with healthcare and infection prevention, this entire experience raised serious concerns regarding patient safety, staff education, infection control practices, and professionalism. I sincerely hope administration reviews these concerns seriously and implements additional staff education and accountability measures so future patients receive safer care. I had already spoken with Unit Charge nurse Hannah and emailed Karen Hale about this and I haven’t gotten any follow up email so I sincerely hope this review is read by hospital administration and the individuals responsible for patient care standards, and that meaningful action is taken to address these concerns and improve patient safety moving forward.
