“Absolutely not a place you want to be ever seen!! It takes now them 3 months to schedule you to see your doctor. This has been going on for a while now, and I am done with this place. I have been going there for @ 2years and instead of treating their patients the right way, it's the opposite! The longer you stay there, the worst it gets!! You can get an appointment for months. Please do yourself a favor, find a doctor elsewhere that will appreciate to have you as a patient.”

“This is for the dental appointment. Dental assistants have zero patience with kids. My daughter had the x-ray done, and afterward, we already told the staffs my daughter only wanted a checkup and no tooth cleaning due to having loose tooth. The assistant still set up and tested the tools which had sounds that really made us uncomfortable. My daughter started to get nervous and did not want to lay down and started crying. I tried to encourage her to lay down and open her mouth, and I communicated with my daughter in English and Cantonese ourselves. We did not need any translators. Then out of nowhere the assistant brought in a Cantonese speaking staff, who just said things like, “Oh if you don’t get a clean up, you may have painful cavities”, “you should not act this way in your age”, blablabla, typical way to threaten instead of soothing. It was no help at all. They make you feel like you are wasting their time, and they do not allow kids to have some down time. Do not leave kids alone with them. You never know what they will say to your kids and traumatize them. We will not come again.”

“NEMS is, quite honestly, one of the BEST providers around -- it provides in-person translators for patients, excellent services, and even provides a transportation service (NEMS PACE) for the elderly or those who are otherwise unable to drive. For those who plan to stay in network, only need primary care, or need their translation services, NEMS is superb. From the perspective of a medical professional, NEMS is cooperative and efficient; they answer the phone, generally get back to insurance requests in a timely manner, and are overall polite. I've personally had EXCELLENT experiences with Crystal from NEMS PACE, she is always kind and very thorough (please give her a raise!). However, for out-of-direct-network services, they are one of the WORST insurance companies to work with. Because NEMS tends to withhold patient payments, other practices are hesitant to accept NEMS, so your base provider network is small outside of the NEMS network; this makes it a nightmare for non-NEMS providers to refer patients out to other services they may need. For patients who require specialty care (ie. surgical oncology, orthopedics, psychiatry, etc) this is DETRIMENTAL to your health and care -- insurance companies like Optum or SCCIPA will be a much better fit due to the larger out-of-insurance provider network. Please beware if you are a patient requiring special services!”
